For real lovers and connoisseurs there is no doubt that Enzo Mari is a truly great designer. Since the start of his career in 1952, up until today, he has always questioned the true definition of design. For Mari it is not about producing decorative objects but objects that are embedded in a social and technical context. This resulted in a very large number of perfectly useful objects that toy with technical implementation, whether industrial or artisanal. The famous series of PVC Bambù vases for Danese is a perfect example, playing with production methods rather than focussing on the formal object aspect.
