Denis Santachiara, Sparta lamps for Tribu

DSC01643
Available
1985

You may well ask who is Denis Santachiara? Like many designers overshadowed by society’s need for constant change, Denis Santachiara, who took centre stage of the design scene during the 80s and the start of the 90s, has been somewhat forgotten. He is nevertheless an atypical creator who stood out from most of his contemporaries. One of the main and unusual characteristics of his work is his focus on movement. This movement may be motorized or generated by the user. Sparta lamps have the potential for movement. They only have one stem therefore requiring something to lean against, hence the need for users to find a suitable place or adequate measures to locate them.

Anodised aluminium version that was never marketed. Set of 3 in blue also available.

Height 210 cm
