Ingo Maurer, Galgen floor lamps, Design M Munich editions

Ingo Maurer Galgen Triangle BD_001
Sold
1981

Galgen, that means gallows in German, is probably one of the most rare and least known of Ingo Maurer’s lamps. Of course it resembles a Japanese lantern because it is manufactured in paper. Ingo Maurer’s design and overall conception makes it a completely different object. Each screen is arranged on a stem that is adjustable in height. The light bulb is kept at a distance from the paper by a system that already in 1981 demonstrated the author’s ingenuity. Patinated steel with a lampshade in Ami-Kami paper.

Height 120 cm
